I have what I'm told is an early style tuber rear rotor that is for the Brembo caliper and mount. My 98 S3 has the Nissin caliper and this will not work without being modified. I bought another (correct) rotor and figured I'd see if anybody wants it before it goes on ebay! can email pic if you like, would like to recover the cost of a new rotor. | ||

woah! Some one told you the early S2 rear rotor would not work? It should I Have a new rear rotor on my S2. They should be interchangeable... | ||

It CAN work... but not with the flathead screws to clear my caliper mount, so I'd have to machine the bolt holes and didn't want to do that. | ||

Spidy, I know you are the self appointed Buell historian but, sorry, the original early S2 used a Brembo rotor that used button heads. Please do your homework and DO NOT spread false information. Go look at the picture in the earlier post. Brembos are cross drilled, Nissans are slotted. Crawl back in the web now. | ||

PS, Brembos use a unique rotor bracket that will work with the Nissin, but the Nissin bracket won't work with the Brembo caliper unless it is relieved. | ||

debate aside (thought we kept that in the 1125 board!)... I'd rather sell it in original condition than alter it, if you want it get at me before I list it. | ||

OK, my bad. Unfortunately, this guy, Spiderman, on a regular basis will post answers that are incorrect in a way to make it look like he knows all the answers. In a PM to me yesterday he told me he know his Buell history and I should not "chime in" correcting him . Clearly he does not. I prefer to think that we need to police ourselves to make sure we are not spreading bad information. There is plenty of that out there already. I guess he is my new pet project! Sorry. | ||

KM is cool, he is mad he can't have my swingarm, he is so cute sometimes LOL Anywho! And this is the reason I said so, the parts book lists the rear bolts, part# 3495Y as a countersunk head screw, which is a flat head not a button head. If it takes some kind of special head I stand corrected but since I can not remove the bolts on mine tight now, nor do I care to LOL So since you One uped me there KM I'll give you the swing arm for 350 shipped! LOL | ||

Cost me about $80. to replace it so that's what I'd like to get for it... not sure if the price is out of line because I can't find them for sale anywhere! |
