I spoke with the guy at Billet to Race and he said he can build a frame brace for us, we just need to send him pictures and description.
please let me know who would be interested, so I can go ahead and tell him the exact number of braces we need and come up with a price.

I just stopped in from 1125 forum, I also have enjoyed a 96 S1 for the last fourteen years and 95K miles with a banke frame brace. Suspension correct and fresh going over 90 mph, its a tank slapper. Put on the frame brace and the tank slapping is gone. Helps to have it all tuned up for weight with forks and springs. The factory shocks are all S*&^, I have a Penske. The character of the bike is completely transformed with a well setup suspension.

Sorry if I am beating down an old path.

Danny, your post makes no sense.
The frame brace has nothing to do with controlling or eliminating the dreaded "tank slapper".

A tank slapper at 90 mph ?????

i can see where in certain situations not having the frame brace could allow an oscillation into the steering head, which could lead to a "slapper"!! if you have ever seen a non-braced frame running on a dyno, that corner of the frame shakes like crazy!!!

I would be interested price dependant of course. Either style, but I also think the Westek does have a better fwd mount.

etc...

Please run any group buy efforts past our applicable (aftermarket parts sellers) sponsors first. If they are not interested in supporting the effort, then feel free to proceed.

I'd vote (and spring) for the "Westek" style. Not really interested in the "Banke" style.

Have you guys seen the quality of the B2R stuff?

I wouldn't get overly excited, based on looking at Wilson's triple clamp. That was some seriously shoddy work IMHO.

But hey, what do I know. I just do this stuff for a living : )

Maybe someone should ask the guy above?

Billet2Race did do a pretty crappy job. I won't be running it on my bike that's for damn sure.

Steve, What was it about the tree that turned you off? I have a B2R top tree on my S1 and other than some very minor machining marks which I polished out, it seemed to be well made.I'd be in for a Westek style brace

Wilson, I presume that your machinist friend could not help you out from the drawings that I sent you?

Machining marks are one thing. Z Level steps in the triple clamp that Wilson has is another. There is like .007-.01" difference on the top of the tree! That isn't something easily polished out.

It was just REALLY shoddy work IMHO.
