Hey all, getting my s2 into the best shape that I can and suffered a little setback. The PO of my bike seems to have stripped the screws for the tail light lens, or at least thats what I figured had to have happened because the SOB fell off. I had to ghetto one out of red duct tape to get back, but I really want to get a new one. My local HD stealership informs me that I have to order an entire kit for the rear light assembly, which is something I would rather not do (read: pay for). Can anyone help me with a lens for a 1995 S2? Or point me in the right direction before I have to give up 60$ and wait for it to come in? Thanks! Anything would help, and my email is polishhero at gmail dot com. I am really enjoying the community here and the amount of knowledge and enthusiasm for Buell motorcycles around here is fantastic!

I have a spare I can part with. Shoot me an email with you address and I'll get it off to you.

The lens-only part number supersedes to the "light assembly" (whole thing) part number.

Loctite, loctite, loctite. Or do what I did, drill through the whole housing, and use longer screws with nylock nuts on the other side to hold it in place.

Of course, I use a Ulysses LED taillight circuit board, so I never have to take it off again to change bulbs...

Had that happen to a friend's S2 last year. Had to buy the whole assembly.
I like the idea of the longer screws. My sons S2 has one screw that is a bit wonky. I think I'll take care of it before it dissapears.

I don't remember what screws I got, but used the same thread/diameter as stock (and keep an eye on head size, too, so they fit into the lens recesses), added an inch or so to the length, got a nylock that matched, and just drilled out the standoff so it went through to the wheel-side of the tail section.

Oh, and use a washer under the nylock. No sense stressing the fiberglass more than needed : )
