I am building a S2 landspeed racing bike and plan on using the stock fuel tank, at least initially. I have ran into a clearance problem with my engine though.

I need to put a "dent" in the bottom of it. Does anyone know what material the tank is made of or if it is possible to work with it in anyway?

Also, does anyone have a junk tank that I could use to experiment with?

Jeff

I had a large BMW tank "plastic welded" to move the petcocks, worked fine, lasted a long time and got me to Mexico and back.
Perhaps you can put it under an infra-red lamp, heat the area, push in the spot you need to clear.
