OK Folks, My turn signal was working intermittently. Now its stopped working totally. I bought a used left side switch housing (Ebay) thinking the current one went bad. Plugged in new Ebay switch still a no go. Anyone direct me to a flasher relay of some type on bike? I'm assuming its not a fuse because I'm assuming if fuse went bad that would be it and it wouldn't work intermittently. It's a 99 Buell S3T Thanks in advance |

Sounds like the relay has burned out. On my X1 it's right next to the ECM. I will make noise if it is bad, Like a buzzing sound or no noise at all. I bought one from electrosport.com because i needed an led relay. |

it is in front of the battery. The relay is a 3 prong relay that you can get at any automotive parts store |

Sweet i think I found it. Above it and on right....at least its making a clicking noise. Its either the relay or the bomb the wife placed on my bike. |

Do the dash indicator globes flash? they won't work if they are blown. |

the signal will still flash if the indicator lights in the dash burn out, it just flashes quickly to tell you that there's less than the normal amount of resistance in the circuit. Same way your indicator light flashes quickly when the signal itself burns out. If the signals aren't working at all, I'd personally start chasing wires with a test light, starting at the switch and working my way towards the signals. If one direction works properly, I'd assume the problem is wiring. If both fail at the same time it sounds like the relay. |

LED blinkers must be different then ? one side of mine wouldn't work until I replaced the globe in the dash ? |

That may be the case. I wouldn't know, my X1 has extra resistors in the wiring so the turn signal circuits behave just like they would with incandescent bulbs. |

Mine has a different flasher to suit the LED's, mysterious stuff electricery , just don't let the smoke out of the wires, tis bloody hard to get back in. |

I had those relays for my led's. I ponied up the 20 bucks and bought a led flasher from American sport bike. Way better than those resisters! |

My clicker relay vibrated loose from the metal mounting tab because the plastic body couldn't take the vibes. I took it off and carried it into work and epoxied it all up because I was about to go on a vacation. That temporary fix is still working for some reason like 60,000 miles later. Just saying, sometimes you can luck out |
