I have a Vance&Hines CF one that blew up but i still have it. I was going to have it repaired but i bought a full D&D system instead. I will sell if you could use the parts off it. It is off an X1

Here is a pic

This a SSR2 can. I paid $500 for this can.

It was used on a stock X1 header. The packing blew out at only 750 miles and i didn't notice and it melted the carbon fiber.

The CF cans have a different rear mount. The aluminum cans like to shear off the mounting 'foot'; the CF ones use a stainless strap-style rear mount.

If I can find mine, I'll take a pic...

To answer one question not answered yet: I've never seen a V&H can that was made for the Buell race header.

The rear mount is made of 2 super strong diesel exhaust clamps and a home made bracket that is 1/4" steel and welded together. It has never broken, And i still have it. I will snap a picture of it and see if it will work for you DINUNS1

Is it an X1 you have?

Salvatore,

That appears to be a standard V&H, with either the elbow cut off or not installed, to allow that slip over a race header.

Not made by V&H that way, that's modified. Will post pics here in a sec (I'm on my cell phone).

Salvatore,

The V&H SS2R's for Buell's had the elbow welded onto the muffler from V&H that way.

See pic below for reference.

And judging from this picture you sent me, it has been cut before, look at the uneven cut on it. So YES, it has been modified.

I have a complete stainless one off my S3, gently used, in the box, that's available for sale. I switched over to a CF one, and have this one as a take-off.

Some were welded, some had the springs. Im not sure when they changed, maybe when they went to the 2.5 " system? Both my aluminum and cf ones had the springs, they were both 2"

Lol, I wonder if anyone really knows...that was my assumption hence why it was a question for someone to answer.

Either way, the one he sent me pics of doesn't have the spring clips, I will bet it had the elbow welded on.

Anyone bother to call V&H and ask them, instead of just guessing? They're really quite approachable....
