I need to buy a new set of tires for my bike, but I am having trouble finding the recommend tires that are in the service manual. I cant find any stores that carry them. Can someone recommend a brand of tires that are good tires, that are availible in the stock sizes. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot guys.

Welcome to the forum!
Tires are one of those subjects that have been covered over and over.
There is no need to stay with the original spec, but stay with the original size.
Dual compound tires give longest life, and are fine for almost everyone's spirited street riding. Track tires are different, so get a tire that is a sport tire for track, or sport tire for the street is fine but just won't last as long.
There is a ton of tire info and opinion on here (and just about every bike forum, I'd imagine.
Pirelli's,
Continental Sport Attack (sport) or Road Attack (dual compound)
Michelin Pilot Road or Pilot Power,
There are some good Bridgestones that others use, and Metzlers, too - just can't remember the models.
Use the "search" tab up top of the page.

Now, how about some pic's of the X1?!!!

Go with 170/60ZR17 on the rear, 170/55ZR17 are obsolete.

170/60ZR17 is available in most brands.

Read here what tires people are using on their Buells.

I prefer continental race attack endurance or the road attack tires.

I take any dunlops goodyear or bridge stone and throw them out immediately "I" will not use either of those brands.

I love my Michelin Pilot Roads- run them on both the X1 and XB- great price, and fantastic mileage.

Do you have PMs or standard wheels? If PMs, get a 180.

To each his own; I've always preferred Pirellis. I like the Diablo Rossos, but run the Scorpion Syncs for the look and dirt roads handling.
