That really doesn't seem fair.... Outside of the price, how's Frank really supposed to resist that!

OK, so try these beauties:

Red Snap:
http://athensga.craigslist.org/mcy/1598422780.html

Canyon Red:
http://huntington.craigslist.org/mcy/1611951041.ht ml
(you may need to cut/paste the link into your browser; it is not posting w/o a false space in the address...)

or the Yellow Pearl one in Baltimore, now down to 2,700 OBO: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mcy/1628147850.htm l

or this one, in Sapphire/Black - used to have a photo on with asking price 4,300; now it's just "reasonable offers": http://richmond.craigslist.org/mcy/1632213808.html

All beauties, all pretty much stock, low miles (the Baltimore one is the highest, with 33k).

You look at the classified section here, and the old school threads, and everyone loves these bikes, but they aren't selling. Times are hard, I guess, but there are opportunities out there.

Thank you for the links. They confirm what I guestimated about the current prices: between $2,250 and $2,750. Of course, exceptional bikes are worth more and deservedly so. A horrible time to sell, and a fantastic time to buy, indeed. I think I'll add another S2 to my stable soon.

I really do hope that, for those prices, Buell-lovers step forward and keep these bikes on the road. Not to put them down - because I own one and love it - but people have Blasts advertised on Craigslist for the same price!!!!

Left a message but haven't got a return call. It wouldn't be the smartest thing to do right now. Sure looks nice, though!

Those of you who have ridden an X1, from wind protection point of view, how does the S2 cockpit compare with X1? Maybe it's my height or the height of the flyscreen but I get a tremendous amount of wind on my chest and helmet at speeds higher than 50-60 mph and it gets quite straining after a few minutes. Is that supposed to be normal?

Past Sunday, with temps in the low 80s during the day, I did a lot of freeway riding on my S2, with speeds around 75 and shortly up to 85 (don't tell). I'm 6'6" and thanks to the 1" inch lower foot pegs, my lower body fits the bike and the contours of the tank cover like a glove. The upper body gets pounded though, up to a point where my neck hurts because I have to fight so hard keeping my head up. It can be prevented by bending forward more into a racy position though. I can live with that, as I enjoy canyon carving much more than freeway riding anyway.

Almost every time I have spoken to a Buell owner about the bike he has for sale (except on badweb classified), I get funny "facts."
"87 made that year"
"S1W's only came in black and white, and all the black ones went to Japan."
That sort of thing. Always puts a smile on my face.

This one was owned by the owner of the local HD dealership which used t be a very good dealership until he sold it.

There is a painting of Erik Buell next to an early 90s RS that was painted by a local painter to Colorado Hank or Henry Miller (memory is going) that I think, but am not sure, was in the Pikes Peak HD dealership on display for a short period. I know I have seen it somewhere and thought that was were it was. I know, at one time, Pikes Peak HD / Bull was a great Buell dealership. It is not know and has not been for several years.

The former owner of the dealership has been selling some of his bikes which includes a 76 XLCH Cafe Racer and a early 90s RS... It is trashed because it sat outside all these years.

Butch, remember these.

Actually I have no idea which 1996 S2T that is LOL...

Here is another S2 rider. "Who is this Guy?"

That kinda of looks like Loveland Pass over Court's shoulder.

Sorry for the thread hijack but I am having a little fun.

Can anyone guess who this is on a Silver S1? I will give you a hint, he is on the BadWeb, rides a S2 as well and is a Buell fanatic as much as any of us.

EB, a hands on engineer
