This is how I cut mine. Gives it that more naked look but finished. Not like you just took the tail off.

Yeah I moved it under the gas tank and moved the fuse block above the battery and the relays went in between the oil tank and the battery. It was not hard you just have to cut the black covering on the wires and it separates into clumps. Then zip tie or tuck the stuff out of sight.

I got rid of my tail section plastics and cut the frame a little shorter. If you'd like some closer up pics, let me know and I'll take some.
I'm still not happy with the wiring, its an on -going project among others ; ) I like the exposed frame, a lot.

Thanks for the compliment littlebuggles!! I hated the bulky back end look. I just removed the tail, re routed some wiring and flipped the ignition box upside down. For the brake light I bought a $7 LED trailer running light from the local hardware store, used self tapping srews to mount it to the back of the seat. I wired in 2 resistors to the running light wire to dim it a little, so it would function as a brake light. The bike has a tough "raw" look to it! I have it apart now, going with a new config. Here is a pic of it mocked up. Its all off the sand blast and paint now! Good luck and have fun!!

I thought the back end was too big too, except for me the seat was also too big. Lit my butt on fire riding more than 200 miles, so I went to the slimmer S1 tail and found trimming and reshaping the foam made my riding a lot more comfortable.

Click my profile for a pic, I won't clutter your exposed frame thread with my covered tail.

I think Scm2 did some very nice work with shaping his stock tail section, and really like the way the seat Duceater's got continues the lines of the slim tank on his bike.

Nice work on all the bikes posted here, just depends on what's your style.

I guess posting my pics directly would be better for everyone instead of having to weed through my build thread.

Wow, talk about a minimalist tail section. Would you PM a link to your build thread on that.

(Very creative putting the battery under the bike and moving the oil res into the frame. Do you notice a difference in handling moving the weight in and down? My bike feels top heavy.)

Any problems with your battery over hearting? I like that exhaust pipe. Gives me a couple of ideas. Any problems with it so far?

Not that I've noticed, no. It get's pretty windy under there so I doubt I'll have any problems.

They pretty much ALL fit under the tank. That's where I put all of mine. I'll see if I have a pic somewhere at home.
