Everyone has their favorite,I've tried many.
Formula+/Sport-Trans Fluid shifts the smoothest for me.

Sport-Trans / Formula + is a great non-syn. Personally, I run Syn3 in everything - every hole, every bike, same fluid. No chance of grabbing the "wrong bottle" or anything, no question about "I just changed that...did I put the right stuff back in?"....nice, smooth shifts and cooler running temps than plain ol' dino oil.

I was using Formula+ but am going to switch to Mobil 1 15/50 as I prefer not to give my money to H-D if at all possible.
Don't use the Mobil 1 gear oil, by the way, it tends to eat stators.

It's not the brand that matters, just stay away from ANY GL-5 gear oil!

I use Mobil1 15-50 in both engine and tranny.
