Glad I stopped in and read that. I did a chain conversion on mine and it's rubbing the swinger. Guess I won't worry about it.
Question though: How much slack in the chain do you have with the rider on the bike?

With the chain at it's tightest point in the swingarm's travel, I probably have about 3/4" of slack.

What is the benefit to doing the chain conversion?

Being able to select different gearing. On the track, having your gearing right makes a huge difference, and different tracks require different gearing.

Right now, I have a 19 tooth front and a 45 tooth rear with the stock primary and transmission ratios. This gearing was great for VIR north, but my loudon setup will make me want to go up 2 in the rear. The stock ratio would be equal to 19/43.

Erik have you tried this or looked into it? I was just sitting here at the bearing shop and had this sitting in front of me...

I was going to get the EBR tensioner sprocket, but right now, the roller that I am using is working just fine.

I think I have a bit more slack than just 3/4" I would rather have too much than not enough slack.

I geared mine up a little higher than stock so it wouldn't wheelie as easy in second. Power wheelies are still no problem but it cruises a little nicer..

When I measured mine, I did it with the shock off, and I ran the swing arm through the full range of motion. I also gained a little more slack now that the top roller broke.
