My 97 has a Mikuni HSR42 with Forcewinder air filter. The bike won't start without the throttle cracked and won't idle without it either. The choke has no effect on starting or idling. Any help appreciated.

Sounds like your carb might need a good cleaning, before you start changing a lot of jets.

Have you tried to use the idle screw.
