I read somewhere that someone replaced their stem on their triple with one from a early 90s sportster because it was longer and allowed better fitment of XB forks in a tuber triple. Does anyone know who this was? If I was to go about doing this, does a homemade spacer go on the top of the neck to take up that new extra space and move the top triple up? thanks (Message edited by purpony on March 09, 2010) | ||

That was me. You need a longer stem to fit XB triples on a tuber or sportster. Tubers have the same stem as '82-'03 Sportsters. | ||

There is no spacers needed. XBs have 1/4" shorter neck. They, tubers, and sportsters use the same neck bearings. | ||

From any '82-'03 sportster or tuber! Lol. The point is that the stems will fit either trees, but the XB is 1/4" shorter. All you have to do is have it pressed out and press in a tuber or XL stem. | ||

I have one in the closet if you want it, it's collecting dust anyway. $20+shipping. Beat-up S2 lower triple is included because I ain't having it pressed out. You can do that. |
