I read somewhere that someone replaced their stem on their triple with one from a early 90s sportster because it was longer and allowed better fitment of XB forks in a tuber triple. Does anyone know who this was? If I was to go about doing this, does a homemade spacer go on the top of the neck to take up that new extra space and move the top triple up?

thanks

That was me. You need a longer stem to fit XB triples on a tuber or sportster. Tubers have the same stem as '82-'03 Sportsters.

There is no spacers needed. XBs have 1/4" shorter neck. They, tubers, and sportsters use the same neck bearings.

Where did you source the longer stem? Thanks!

From any '82-'03 sportster or tuber! Lol. The point is that the stems will fit either trees, but the XB is 1/4" shorter. All you have to do is have it pressed out and press in a tuber or XL stem.

I have one in the closet if you want it, it's collecting dust anyway. $20+shipping. Beat-up S2 lower triple is included because I ain't having it pressed out. You can do that.
