On a NON PM wheel what is the largest size tire that will fit.....?

I ran a 190 on a PM Wheel on my 01 X1 and kinda like the fatness...

WILL a 190 fit on the standard rim?

Thanks
Matt

Hey Matt,

Here's what I know on the subject...

I'm running a 180 now since the Scorpion Syncs aren't available in the correct size. Grip is excellent but the handling at any significant lean angle is much less confident than a stock sized tire. Here's some info for your consideration, but you probably already know this - the stock rim is 5" (170 width tire), 5.5" is recommended for 180's (PM's).

Here's what the 180 look's like on my bike, the small tail and the angle make the tire look enormous. I'll be going back to stock size when I've got some extra $$ to pay the shop to switch these out.

Anyway, if it's just about looks, the 180 looks cool.

Yes the 190 fits the standard rim,
i've got a 190 Pilot Road 2 on my X1 one at the mo,gonna change it for a 180 or maybe a 170 soon.
just can't get to the edge of the tyre with out throwing the bike down the road.
its such a waste of tyre,15-20mm untouched.......

If you want to look at it, put on a 180 or 190 oversize tire.

If you want to ride it, put on a 170.
