I saw a thread recently about stocking up on parts for the long term possibility that they may be no longer available?

Have a 97 S1, with thunderstorm heads, S&S G carb, Hi-4 ignition, 580 cam, buell race header

but would like to be able to keep it running for a while - parts are hard to come by now - in five years it could be tough

even ignition keys are running low - so I am preparing to stock up

any ideas would be appreciated

Stop worrying and ride. I can still get new parts for my '95 S2 if I need 'em....from the dealership.

Biggest thing I'd worry about is bodywork. The aftermarket can/will pick up the rest (as evidenced by your S&S carb, Crane ignition, and I would guess aftermarket cams - S&S?).

Very nearly all of the engine bits on a tuber are Sporty parts. Chassis bushings and bearings and stuff can be sourced aftermarket. Performance bits are everywhere (NRHS, American Sport Bike, S&S, Crane, Andrews, etc. etc.).

Ride.

Smile.

Repeat.

I agree with what you said,

Used to be a boy scout once upon a time...

Restored several brit bikes and had an easier time with that than some buell items recently -
