Dave, it may just be me but I am unable to see the pics of your S2 but I wanted to tell you that Loren is correct. If you want to get the full S2 Ownership experience then join a bunch of S2 Enthusiast in Texas. (See the S2 Step S2 Gathering Thread). Dave, That blue is the best! Same color as mine! I talke to Erik about that color a couple of years ago. That blue is what Parkway Blue was suppose to be before the Sikkens paint screw up.. Brad BTW, I'd love to have a full res version of the above photo. | ||

The State of Florida finally decided that I had done enough paperwork and had been to the Tax Collectors office (DMV) enough times and I got a tag. I have been riding the new to me S2 around for the last few days. I have to say that it is a deferent animal than my S3 or M2. I have come up with a few things that need my attention.. The turn signals are not self canceling, also at night I notice that when the turn signals are or both sides are blinking just the correct side is brighter.. I need to get a new windscreen for it as well, it looks like something was set on it and it has set a little warped. I don’t like the big ol honking sportster pegs they will not last long. I will be looking for seat options as well, if someone has a damaged donor seat I would be interested in it. | ||

Dave, Probably just need a new turn signal module. S2s actually have "hazard blinkers" when you hold down both turn signal switches at the same time (Harley holdover). I have an extra stock seat for you if you'd like it (not damaged) for $50 plus shipping OR you can have it FOR FREE.....IF you come to the Texas S2 Step in May!  Gustaffson: http://www.bikescreen.co/products.asp?cat=92 has windshields in stock height and +2" and +4" (I gotta get a new +4"...goddam railroad tracks). Harley Dyna "cushion" pegs are a nice alternative for long distance travel and, of course, any cool billet aluminum pegs that'll fit a Harley will fit as well. Glad you've joined "da Club"! You can still get windscreens for the S2 from both ZG (I think) and Gustafsson (I know, I got one from them a couple years ago). Stock, +2, +4 or +6 I believe... Is your speedo working? The self-cancel feature on the turn signals reads vehicle speed / distance; without a distance input it doesn't know "when" to cancel the signal. Although, with the "global flash" you're getting, I'm leaning towards either a bad ground, or a bad TSM (turn signal module). Got a manual yet? It's THE BIBLE; highly recommend getting one. Yesterday.  I *think* you can still get a Corbin for an S2? They had both a solo version and a 2-up; I have both and love 'em. If you want a good (damned near perfect) stock seat, let me know. And as much as I love my Red Snap...if I had to do it again, I'd go for a YJP. THAT is an awesome color! (white's not bad either, but I already have that on my S1W). | ||

Thanks for the offers guys.. I would rather use a damaged seat as there are only so many originals out there. If I cannot find a damaged one I will keep you guys in mind. The turn signals I am leaning toward a bad ground as I noticed the horn does not work all that well either. Might have some time over the weekend to chase that down. I need to get a Manual but Uncle Sam just let me know last week that I owed him $3,000 more dollars so my toy budget is shot for a little bit. Same goes for new windscreen. I have a Zero Gravity screen on my S3 and I like the looks of it but it has always seemed thin to me. I may go with the Gustafsson when the budget allows. I wish I could come to the Texas S2 Step but I don't think I will be able to this year.. I have other commitments that same weekend. |
