I posted a wanted ad in the classifieds, but there doesn't seem to be much activity there. Hopefully one of you "old schoolers" has some parts in a drawer in your garage?

I've been trying to find a race air cleaner for my '96 S1 race bike, and Patrick helped me out with a cover and K&N air filter. Does anybody have a backing plate (with or without the two standoffs) and/or the aluminum rear spacer ring? Thanks very much for helping!

I'd go for a metal one. Those damn plastic ones crack to easy...

The full kit on my S1W has a metal spacer, and a plastic venturi. The S2 has the factory plastic backing plate. I'm looking for a spacer (definitely going metal, just gotta find someone to make a copy of the one off my S1W) for her M2L....

Would a NRHS backing plate like American Sport Bike sells work for you. Better made and out of sight behind the filter and cover. Just a thought.

Edit: I just saw in the "classified wanted" section that you only want the OEM part. I have a Beull CF intake on my M2 that is actually an X1 model. I just plugged the extra two holes. I may actually pick up the NRHS plate in the future. Just personal preference.

Love the color scheme on your S1. : )

I think Wilson is talking about the oem plastic spacer that goes between the backing plate and the carb or throttle body.

They deform over time and start leaking and the bolts won't stay tight.

I made Aluminum spacers for both my bikes, no more air leaks or fuel drips.

They measure 3.25 OD x 2.25 ID x .550 thick for a FI tuber, a carb model may take a different thickness.

Use a new gasket for the bolt hole pattern.

James and Wilson, I guess that is news to me. I assumed that the rear spacers were aluminum rings, but you guys think at least some were provided as plastic?

Like Joe said, I knew the front "velocity rings" are black plastic. That isn't what you guys are thinking about? Those are supposed to still be available from HD for under a buck.

I have the old race air cleaner on my M2. I bought it without the backing plate and from HD the part is discontinued. But kuryakyn makes the same damn thing in three different widths to use with their air cleaners.
The 5/8" kuryakyn aluminum spacer is what I bought from the HD dealer. shown here: http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductD etail/catID/15/scID/32/IMID/1033
The plastic venturi ring I already have but American Sport Bike sells one that's longer to use with a 3" filter.
