Just in case anyone going to the Texas S2step is interested there is a Motorcycle museum in Vanderpool, TX. It has an "Ace" Cafe too. Sounds pretty cool.

Jim2, it is a very cool place. They have great bikes on display, especially but not exclusively old English iron, they have a good snack bar, a restoration workshop in back that makes me drool every time I'm there, and the nice lady minding the store even let us bring beer in from our cooler to go with our burgers.

Tough to beat for (IIRC) $5 a head!

That's cool, and only about 20 miles away from camp. It will be on our to do list.

Cool, I did not realize it was that close. Did anyone notice RTs solo seat S2 in the picture?

Sssssshhhhhhh! RoadThing will start having thoughts 'bout taking it back from me!
The museum is really cool, though. Allan Johncock (owner) is a really great guy. One of our group had a broken part on his Buell (go figure...) and Allan took a look at it,
then went in back and machined one up for him, no charge! Here are more pics from a previous Thrills In The Hills ride, just to make those of you not attending the Texas S2 Step feel a little bit more jealous:
