Hey guys, I just bought a 98 S1 a few weeks ago that had been sitting for 3 years on a patio with dogs pissing on it. The owner pulled the carb apart and tossed all the parts in a box, and pulled the fuel tank all apart, etc. I got it all put back together and got it running and it runs pretty damn good but I still need to adjust the carb. I put 1.5 qts of oil in it and found out it had all drained down into the crankcase so I drained out 3 qts after I got it running : )

The part I need is the turn signal switch. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to clean the contacts? I was able to pull the front brake switch apart and clean the contacts and get it working, but it looks like the turn signal switch is not replaceable without changing the whole left side switch assembly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok, well I found out I can get the whole left control for about $50 so I will probably do that eventually, but for now I got it working ok. Anyone have any ideas on other things I should check on this bike? It supposedly has all the recalls done to it. It only has 13K on the odometer. Im looking at getting new tires ASAP since they sat for 3 years outside (covered).

I am noticing a little seepage on the rocker boxes, so they probably have the original paper gaskets in there, so yeah I'll have to change those eventually.

I finally got the registration straight and rode it about 30 miles yesterday. I missed a shift into second gear and had to shift super careful after that to make sure I hit them properly. I think I will check the shift drum today and see what I can find out.
