Ok guys/gals. If you could help me out it would be great! I don't currently have my bike as it's in another state waiting to be picked up.

(Makes it more difficult buying stuff for it I know, but with your help I can get it done.)

Here's what I need to know, as requested from the Suma/Taylor sparkplug wire guy; if you have an S-1 I'd appreciate the help. Even better if it's an S-1W:

"the length of each lead, angle of plug boots, angle of coil boots and what type of terminal ... twin cam style?"

Guess he means if the 98 or S-1s were twincam. I dont know much about these engines yet. I'm guessing they are single cams?

Can't help on the wire question but a twin cam is part of the H-D big twin family of motors.

Sportster/Buell motors have 4 cams.

I just went an measured the wires on my 98 S1. Both ends are 90 degrees and the terminal type on the coil side is a standard automotive coil terminal, like you'd find on a 1960's muscle car. The front wire is 7" and the rear is 15.5".

I think what your guy means by "twin-cam style" is the special connector harley uses to plug the wires into the coil on a Twin-Cam engine, and these are not that type of connector.

Great, thanks for the measurements. Though I'll admit I never thought anyone would answer this detailed question and I coudln't wait, so I went ahead and bought the Sumax/Taylor 10.44mm Pro Race wires that say they'll fit the Buell X-1. We'll see if they fit.

Here are the specs, so they look to be pretty close to what you measured up:

Includes: 18” & 7” leads w/90 degree plug boots.

& 180 degree coil boots.
Color ...............Part #
Black ...............40031
Red ..................40231
Blue ..................40631

Just got my Sumax/Taylor 10.44mm Pro Race wires and they look good. Can't wait to post them up.

Here are a few of the bike in various states of undress. Not digging the white frame on the cool dark gray/silver but it'll eventually be changed to match.

Get the plug wire(old school stranded) and ends from NAPA ...

Keep as short as possible, no closer than a inch to any metal(frame/engine) ...

Works for me ...
