Need more info.
Key won't turn?
Key turns but doesn't release seat pin?
Broken release cable?
Have you tried slapping the tail of the seat down while turning the key?

If it is simply out of adjustment, you may be able to get it to release by pushing down hard on the tail (right above the latch) while turning the key.

Can you hear anything inside the tail moving when you turn the key? Been a while since I played with an X1...I forget if there's a workaround or "emergency release procedure".

Once you get it open...don't forget to dri-slide the cable. Just like a clutch cable, they get ganked up and sieze or snap. Hit the latch itself with some too.
