my x1 swingarm is going to get powdercoated so I have to remove the bearings, once removed can they be reused or should i go new? What is the best way to remove them? |

they are standard Timken bearings, and bearing store will have them CHEAP and they will also come with a new rave at most places... So short answer, replace em while you are there, with the limited movement of the swing arm the races tend to get worn un-evenly as opposed to the crank that makes 360* movement... |

The bearings come out easily after getting the dust seals off of them. The hardest part is getting the bearing races out. I've gotten one set out of a swingarm, now I need to figure out to get the other set out of the polished swingarm.. |

If you have to hammer out the outer races, they should be replaced. Like Spiderman says, they are cheap. Any NAPA store should have them, the number is stamped on the side. |

I have powdercoated 3 or 4 swing arms. I always leave the races in. Just replace the seals. I made some aluminum pucks that press in to plug the holes to keep PC off the races. No problems. |
