I just tried out the wheel cleaning stand Harbor Freight has been advertising in the mainstream cycle mags. For $20 it worked pretty well.I've seen the real ones go for $60. It's compact and light weight, and easier than dragging out race stands. Also I've been using the knock-offs of the Condor trailer wheel chocks. HF has been running coupons for $40 and they are well worth it. It hold your bike upright until you can get some tie downs on, and the chocks pop out quickly to use your trailer or truck bed for other loads.
