I'm 6'6" tall and thus grateful for every inch of room I can get on my bike. A few weeks ago I was able to "win" a set of S2T foot pegs on eBay, which reportedly are 1 inch lower than the S2 pegs. Here's where I'm not sure if I can use them "as is": usually the foot peg on the left and the shifter are on the same horizontal plane, as is the foot peg on the right and the brake pedal. If I now mount the lower foot pegs, wouldn't my feet have to work the shifter and the brake pedal at a much steeper angle upward? Phrased differently: are shifter and brake pedal on the S2T models different from those on the S2 in order to compensate for the difference of 1 inch? Maybe I'm overthinking the whole issue, but I would appreciate some insight from the experts on this before I mount them.

Simply make adjustments in the shift and brake lever linkage for the new lower peg positions.

+1 to what Loren said. They are both adjustible so that this is not a problem.

To clarify on the adjustment procedure - follow your brake lever back, and you will see it turn upwards and become a threaded rod with a locknut. Loosen the locknut and spin the rod until the lever is where you want it.

For the shifter, there is the shift toepeg attached to a 'boomerang'. The top of the boomerang attaches to a linkage that goes forward; it has, at each end, a locknut and a threaded rod. ONE END IS REVERSE THREAD, it should be at the end of the linkage that has the groove cut in it. Look closely before you put a ton of torque on it trying to break it loose....otherwise you'll just break it. DAMHIK.

Anyway. Loosen the locknuts and simply spin the center linkage. As it lengthens or shortens, it will move your shift peg up or down. Put it where you want it and lock 'er down.

If you don't have enough adjustment in the rod:

Look at the forward part of the shifter assembly, where it attaches to the shift rod that goes into the primary case. There is a splined shaft. Remove the pinch bolt from around the splined shaft. Tap a flat screwdriver (TAP - again, that break thing) into the notch to spread it enough so you can pull the linkage off the threaded rod. Might want to mark with a sharpie an alignment point so you know where you started. Remove the arm from the shaft, rotate it whichever direction you need it to go, and reinstall. Reinstall the pinch bolt. Go back and adjust the linkage / threaded rod as above until you reach the position you want.

I do believe there was a different shifter and linkage for the -T kit...but the adjustments will work just fine. Been riding mine that way for years now (6'4" with a 34" inseam and a 13 foot) : )

I,ve even found adjustment necessary using different shoes.In hot weather I use these

and hit a dam mountain frog with my right foot broke 2 toes.
