I was looking around the internet for headlight options for my S1, and saw a streetfighter headlight/fairing on ebay for 45.00 Im not really crazy about the look of it but with some slight modification I think it could look pretty good. Has anyone used one of these or know someone who has? I would like to give it a shot but if it is a rip off piece of junk, I would like to know before I buy it. Also open to any ideas you guys have for other headlight looks. Just want to change it up for a while, nothing permanent. If you arent sure which one it is, search (head light F2) Thanks

To be honest i know one guy who has it on its XBS just as picture above.
looks nice but he had to change a lot.

the other thing is this fits close to the front end so your instruments will stick out. thats not a clean look in my opinion.
I've got an MT-03 headlight on my M2 but i also had to change my instruments for a digital set to get a nice clean look.
It isn't hard to do, but it will cost you extra money.

I have the T2 for a project and my brother has the T4 on his blast.

From the UK so they take a while to get but I liked the style of the minitwin lights.

The streetfighter series are a little larger and some incorporate a little fairing.

I'm getting ready to put the Acerbis headlight on my X1 as well, and like Rjn I bought a micro digital dash to keep everything clean. The gauge's are from Motogadget and pretty salty, but I like them way better than Dakota digital, and they made a Buell specific mount. Can't wait to get them on!

thanks guys, lots of great info. You see some pretty amazing bikes on the internet but its nice to see how people build em in the real world when money does matter. Thanks again. Please continue to keep posting if you find other cool setups because I am sure i'm not the only one wanting to look into this over the winter.

if you want an cheap digital dashboard try to find a Trailtech VAPOR dashboard.
dirtbikes and quads use them.
they've some more models also.
cheap'ish, idiot proof, easy to install and all the info on it you need.
speed, rpm, distance, time actual and driving time, temp gauge.

Rjn, what did you have to do to hook up the trailtech dashboard? How did you mount and really what about the electrical side of things. Did you have to get their speed sensor or did you just use all of your stock connections?

Check out November. I like these and they are Super small.

They also have larger ones. Made by Trail Tech as well. Good price too. I wish I found these before I bought mine.

@cobraman, all the wires are with the computer.

hook up the power supply wires to the battery of the bike.
there's also a small battery in the computer as back-up.

the rpm sensor is just a wire you wrap around one of the spark plug wires, trying what the best way is to get the rpm's right might take some time.
on the computer you can put in the settings for the yellow light range rpm's and red light rpm's.
Those are the small lights next to the VAPOR lettering.

speed sensor works with a small magnet and pick-up sensor. got my magnet to stick on the belt pulley and the pick up on the under side of the swing arm.
you can choose between Km/H or Mi/H.

that's about it.
got mine to stick tight between the headlight and triple tree, but you can fix them direct on the handlebars with the supplied stuff.

Rjn-

Do you have any more pics of your bike with that headlight?

Does the Vapor have a backlight for night riding?

thanks
