...thought I'd post it here in Old School as well. Looking for a couple pieces for the M2L, which I'm switching over to a race aircleaner.

I need the venturi ring that goes inside the air cleaner, mainly because the screws are waaay too long without it. I also want to try and find some 90 degree head breather bolts because it looks like the straight ones won't fit behind the race aircleaner, at least not with a hose on 'em.

If anyone has any laying around, send me a note. Otherwise, I can get new...but thought I'd check here first : )

I think I have some Force 90* head vents boxed away still if you want 'em.

I needed that ring. The factory part is discontinued but you can get the same darn thing through a dealer or online as a Kuryakyn part, 5/8" spacer.

I got those 90 degree bolts with jam nuts from my local HD dealer. They're $20 a piece and they were not in the parts diagram for the M2. I told them to look at the S1 parts diagram where they appeared.

Now, when I went to install mine on the M2 while facing the carb., the one on the left would not go on past 2 threads. It hits the frame after about two turns. I'm not sure if the S1 frame is just a tad different which gives it that little bit more clearance or do they install them on the head before they put the bike together? That just seems weird.
I thought about cutting off the end that's hitting and re-flanging the end or just putting a clamp on it - you probably don't need anything if the hose goes over it tight enough. I'll take another look at modifying that one, but for now I'm using the banjo bolt breather set-up. I'd rather NOT have sportster, chrome engine parts. It just doesn't look right.
I thought I'd pass that unexpected encounter on.

Not unexpected. I have the same problem with the rear breather on the S1W. I took it off and ground off the end, so there's no flange. A hose clamp works just fine : )

I work at a dealer so I know it won't be a problem to get 'em new...but I'm off till the 8th....and bored....and I feel like getting the bike running lol.

Ross - if you aren't doing anything with your breathers, LMK what you want for 'em : )

Al (American Sport Bike) sells a tall plastic velocity ring, very similar to the short one you can get from the dealer for very cheap. The girls got me one for fathers day last year to put inside the stock airbox.

Not sure if it will fit under the race intake though.

for god sakes, I was thinking of that aluminum ring on the back side... didn't read that "inside the air cleaner " detail.

That piece from Al you mention works with the 3" air cleaner. I have the same set-up. $12 bucks.

Yeah, I was thinking about that last night...I need the ring that goes in back, too. I'd forgotten there was one back there. I guess I could dremel the base of the breadbox off and use that...in a pinch.

All I got with the aircleaner (used) was the CF cover, the filter itself, the aluminum backplate, and the two standoffs/bolts that hold the cover to the base. But...I knew it was going to be missing stuff, this is just the first chance I've had to mess with putting it on a bike and inventorying what's missing.

Not like she's riding right now anyway. She's (unlike me) smart enough not to ride when weather's in the 20s!

I was in the same boat when I got my air cleaner used. That's where the 5/8" Kuryakyn spacer will come in.

The dealer printed out the parts diagram and installation instructions for me. They actually showed a version where you can route the breathers to the back of the ham can. you need the 90 degree bolts for sure since the hoses run in front of the carb within that 5/8" space.
I didn't do that though, I just hid an external breather nicely more rearward..

If you have the instructions, could you send me the part number for the kit? I'm off work (where all my catalogs are), but if I have a part number I can log in and do a kit breakdown and print myself the instruction sheet and parts list.

Thanks : )

The instruction sheet is seven pages long. It actually is the instructions and parts list for three bikes – X1, M2, S3.

The sheet has a number on the top and every page – J02049.

The race kit part numbers for each of the three bikes in the order above is:

91420-99Y
91421-99Y
91422-99Y

I know I've got a metal ring, pretty sure it's an extra if you need that, just pm your address and I can drop it in the mail for you. I dug through my take off parts and could only find straight breather bolts though. I thought I had removed 90 degree bolts but can't find them...

Littlebuggles - that'd be awesome! I'll drop you a PM...

Daveswan - the part numbers worked perfect. If anyone needs a printout just let me know, I can send you the .pdf file (J02049 is the number for the instruction sheets, it covers all the kits). Thanks!! : )
