I just made a random stop at a bike shop and found this buell and fell in love. Bought it and started doing some research and have learned a lot, and have a new respect for how cool these bikes are. I have 3 Harleys but this is my first buell. Kick ass to ride

That is sweet! I was looking for an S1 or M2 but the M2 showed up first so I got it.

Check the recall items and get a shop manual. That shock doesn't have the recall strengthening do-dad to help hold it together in the event that it breaks. Thought it might be a different model since it has the reservoir there just beneath the lower header tube. Someone else may know better than I.

muffler bushing and old bracket, the front isolator etc. I think it's a right of passage. I think the tubers are one of the nicest looking bikes ever and can be had relatively reasonably.
If it wasn't for my wife I'd have one of each!

You got yourself a beauty there. That is the color scheme that made me take notice of buells...nuclear blue and black...doesn't get much better

Badsix,

What type of tail light / blinker assembly did you buy and what are your thoughts about it. I would like to get one to clean up my M2.

it is unbelievable thinking about the value of the tube frames here in the states!
in my country, those bikes don't go for less than 5-6000 euros (about $8000), and not even in a good shape!
it sucks to see how poor value these bikes have here, because I think they worth much more money!
I hope the market would go back up for these pieces in the future, now that the factory has closed... :-(

I know where you are coming from Ed, over here at the bottom of the world a reasonably tidy X1 or Cyclone sells for approx $8500NZD which is $6100USD

I wonder whose fault is David, the reason of this price dropping here in the States for our loved Buells...
my guess is that the price of a bike is guided from the request in the market and sad to say, here in the States, many of the folks out there don't even know these bikes are made in the USA!
50% of the crowd observing my bikes, ask me if they're Ducati!
I'd like to see at least the tube frames a little bit more valuable, since they're few of those bikes which will remain in the history of motorcycle, IMO.
who knows, maybe in the near future. we just have to wait and see what happens...
