Need help getting my hands on a Banke Performance shifter assy for a 98 S1. Banke stopped making them and I have not been able to locate anyone that has one. If anyone can help with maybe an old one or one not being used that would be outstanding.

Buell26, yes they are hard to find. I called Banke and he said he could make a one off but it would be expensive. I got lucky and found one on ebay a month ago.

Butch, he still has them on the web site but he does not have any left.

Nice looking S1!!

Frank is right about Banke, they are not making the shifters at a production level any longer. He will however make a one off set. At least I could get a one off set made faster than you could get rid of that thing your calling a Tattoo!

Jeff:

I had talked to Al at American Sport Bike and he mentioned that if I could get enough people together, he could order the sets for us. I told Al that I was going to put a request in the forum to test whether I could get enough people together. I think Al said he would like to order 20 sets but would want around 15 guaranteed orders. I would have put the request in but I was deciding whether I was going to go with Banke or the other rear sets Al has. If you want, I will go with the Banke and put the request in and save you some money on the one off.

I have Banke rearsets for my 99 M2. Would they fit your 98 S1? PM me 'cause I'm terrible at following up on postings.

The M2 Rearsets will not fit.
Find a late X1 Shifter, pretty much the same as the Banke Shifter and doesn't cost as much once you find it.

Agreed. If your just lookin' to get rid of the boomerang that is the way to go. Wish I'd done that as a Noob before I spent almost a G on various rearsets before settling on the mid-sets.

I would think that a group order would work. I have been trying to buy a used set from a member here since November but communication has been lacking.

I also spoke to Banke and they would be happy to make enough for an order.

Who wants to lead this?

A banke set-up is more than twice the money for the same essential design. I like the stock better personally as far as function, I have had both and the horseshoe type and prefer the X1 style.

Just broke down and bought the last of what Banke had in stock and had to have a one off pedal made. Thanks for all the replies and posts to this request for help.

I spoke to Banke Performance the other day about doing a run of shifters for S1's. James said if an order of at least 50 was placed he would do it.

Jeff:

Is someone running the count or do we need to call Banke and put our name on a list?

I would be interested in shift and brake levers for 1997 S1....maybe we should get Al to take the lead since he may buy a few for his own stock?

I think he would want a deposit before he ordered? I know I would
