So just a couple days prior to 10-15-09 I boxed up a couple of the isolators that failed pre-maturely and had the intention of shipping them straight to Buell to see if they could use them in some capacity so they could work with Barry to find a solution. Then D-Day hit and I figured it may be a mute point. I sent it anyway along with a couple cards and my 25th Anniversary Fuell mag(hoping I could get it signed by everyone). I really had no expectations and expected to lose the only copy I had figuring they were way too busy. Right before Thanksgiving I got an envelope with a card from Kim Tordik thanking me for the well wishes and hoping I like my signed Fuell mag by a large crop of everyone at Buell. Of course I thought that was the coolest thing ever! Then I get a voicemail today from a Kyle McCloud, an engineer at Buell, saying that the isolator situation was the last thing he had slated to work on before he left. He says that it is going through the final revision stage and that a kit should be available within a few months, and he thanked me for being part of their family. Now what company have you EVER heard of that gives that kind of personal touch and go to those lengths of customer service? I am in awe of Buell Motorcycle Company. Thanks to all once again at BMC for making us proud every time we straddle our bikes and hit that start button!

Blackm2, that is great and it really shows the kind of company Buell is.... or was...

DAMNIT

I got two letters, both hand written, one to response to a request made last summer that I had forgot about. Along with the letter came a new logo Buell PATCH...

We were all part of something bigger than ourselves.

I am doing ok with Buell being gone. I have enough Buells to last many life times. I am still sad for the employees and the people that will never know what it was like to be a part of what we call the Buell Community.

It really gets under my skin when, while wearing something with Buell on it, someone says "hey, didn't they go out of business?"

BFFB

I think history will show that this was the beginning of the end for HD. I hope I am around to see it.

On S2T I,ve never had an front iso last over 21,000 miles and going on 125,550 now.But 1999 S3 origanale iso lasted 65,000.I think it,s because of Fourth Tie-Bar and am going to add one to S2T this year!

Ebutch, I plan on adding it to my M2 as well.
Wonder if we'll ever know when the new ISO's will be able to be ordered? Hrm..

Didn't someone just post a pic of a brand new Barry ISO a few months ago?

Not new but brought back from the dead. But the best of all.1995-1998 Buells did not have the Fourth Tie-Bar! my 1999 came as an improvement for 1999 and one front iso failiar. It,s Bug-free weather in The Finger-Lakes,23F today.

My S3 all ways has road smoother than S2T as as I think because of Tie-Bar.Although S2T is a dam good Ride and non-tiering Solo Ride!!!

Vibes are not the annoying type but if adding Tie-Bar I think would improve Ride and iso Life.

Ebutch,

What strikes me as odd is that all 99-02 X1's and S3's got the fourth tiebar but the 99-02 M2's did not. I wonder why that is.

Only motor differences is the cams and fuel injection. The X1 had a different crank, but both put out more power than the M2 stock. I wonder if that is the case?

Brinnutz:

The BMC did a similar thing on front motor mount tie bar on the BLAST ...

The 2000 BLAST had the front motor mount tie bar, "BUT" not after 2000 ???

I have 57000 miles on my M2 that I bought used with 26000 miles. As far as I can tell it has the original iso. I'm pulling the topend down this winter and my big debate is weather to replace the Iso's or not. Now I here about an other new Iso more decisions. If a person puts on the 4th tiebar does the breakage rate on the front motor mount or the bolts go up? Either of those IMOP is worse than the iso breaking.

So far @ 98,000 miles S2T broke both mot mount bolts, replaced with S3 style bolts and drill-out one side iso mount for larger dia S3 bolt.Know 125,500 miles OK.You won,t have any trouble if you stay in speck.I think.Think my trouble came from my self when I changed color of frame used same bolts over.

Grade 9 bolts

No, he called me December 18th. Said it wouldn't be for 2-3 months until it would be available. Probably not until March or April.
