Please forgive the yet another suggest upgrades for my bike. I am a college student and I am finding the bike research taking away from my exam preparation time. I recently purchased a 2000 X1 with 14000 miles. I have purchased a 1250cc kit from Revolution Performance with Stage II Thunderstorm heads, Thunderstorm Pistons, Top end gasket set, and adjustable rods. I am looking into purchasing SE .536 cams. I have someone with a Dyno that has PCIII knowledge and maps that is willing to help me install. Does this look like it is going to be a good set up and does anyone recommend anything else? I am looking for good 0-100 speed.

I forgot to add that the bike came with a Forcewinder, Vance & Hines slip on, Race ECM, and a PCI currently installed.

Forget the Power Commander. ECMSpy is the way to go.

+1 on tossing the PC. You don't need it. Use ECM Spy to adjust the map.

Tossing the PC seems to be the general consensus when I perused through the older threads. Why should I drop the PC? What advantages does the ECM Spy have over the PC?

make a carb conversion, you'll be much happier!
the Fuel Injection system on the X1's is not one of the best and if you or whoever for you don't have the knowledge to fine tune a FI system using ECM spy, you're screwed.
put a good 42 Mikuni and re-jet it in case you need to go bigger. in case you can step up on a 45 depending on your motor, but I don't think you'll need such a big carb.
I'm sure you'll have a better result and better throttle responsiveness!
all my friends in Italy have done the conversion and they would never come back to FI. the bike runs much smoother.

PC3 is a box that tries to fool the ECM by messing with the output signals, the ecm will compensate its a cluge had one did not like it too good.

ECM spy is a software tool, and cable that you can reprogram the ECM fuel table, reset the tps, and do diagnostic testing with. No X1 owner should be with out it or VSDS if you can find it, American Sport Bike is your resource here, for those items,( ECM SPY WAS FREE WARE ) If your Dyno guy can deal with it that is the way to go hands down
ask around you can get the race ecm maps from some owners, for a starting point, the 536 cams alter the land scape significantly....

+5 on tossing the pc3. Use ecm spy, It can be used to tune the bike live. my bike is tuned this way. 1250 NRHS kit, pistons, rings XB\XL heads stage 2 7mm valves. Dyno tuned with ecmspy and 2 o2 sensors at the same time.
This dyno run picture is ecmspy in the actual tuning.

Sounds like your going to have a stump puller on your hands.

I talked to Al at American Sport Bike and I am going to pick up the DirectLink Key and cable. Thanks to everyone that suggested dropping it. Al explained why (Thanks Al). If I trash the PC, will I need a new O2 sensor?
