I am in the process of building a 90 inch 97 S1 trackday bike and want to add in the extra tiebar like the later bikes have. Can someone with an X1 or an S3 post a photo of the top tiebar arrangement so I can figure out how to make what is necessary. Has ANYBODY DONE THIS BEFORE? IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO CONSIDER ON THIS?

Buellistic has done it on his 97 s3. You have to weld in a tab on the frame I believe

Is there any chance that Buelistic can chime in. I already knew I had to weld in a mount and a brace for the frame.

Is this the mount that has a brace on both heads and then ties into the frame with the tie bar? If so there is one on e-bay I saw Friday. Let me check my pics and I may have one of my X1 from the rebuild.

This one was taken before everything was taken apart to use as a guide.

I've got another with a little better detail of the tab but it's too big and my resizing software is on my work computer. If you want it let me know and I'll get it Monday sometime.

I think he needs the front one, the tiebar that attaches to the motor mount then to the tab on the frame.

Maru:

It was easy as my 97 S3T as it had the RECALL FRONT MOTOR MOUNT DONE which has the hole in it for the tie bar mount ...

All "i" had to do was make a TAB out of some flat metal out of the junk box ...

Just copied the TAB off a later frame that had the TAB ... Copied a late model M2 as they came with TAB/HOLE IN MOTOR MOUNT, "BUT" no TIE BAR ...

With a 90 INCH engine you will be developing a LOT OF "TORQUE" !!!

If you have not all ready, you should up-date your REAR ISOLATORS to PN L0504.9L(left)/PN L0505.9R(right) and FRONT ISOLATOR PN 16207-79D(off a H-D Big Twin which retro fits and is much stronger) ...

I have XB style heads so I already have the needed front mount. I just needed to know where the pickup point for the tie bAR needed to be. Thanks for the part numbers for the isolators. Is it true that an improved isolater upgrade is still in the works?
