i need a new intake manifold, and i cant find any buell ones on ebay other than BSA and blast...

BTW, why the hell does every time i try and search for buell parts a bunch of BSA parts show up... arent those British bikes?

anywho... looking at this one, is it the same as my stock one? the dealer was way overpriced...

Don't search for buell...search for "buell" (with the quotes). It will look for exact word that way. BSA had a thunderbolt at one point; the parameters overlap. It sucks.

27004-88A crosses over to a sportster intake, yep. $90 list. (guessing this is for the S1 in your profile)

yeah its for my S1, i bent the lip the carb goes into and when i bent it back it cracked : (

i guess i could aluminum weld it with some kind of epoxy but i dont want to have to ever take it off again, plus it would prabably break apart due to vibration.

Make sure that your XB heads match the manifold. It doesn't matter if they do or not, because you still need the same manifold, but you may need to get the adapters to use it on the heads if they are later model heads. I don't know if this was an issue with XB heads ever, but I know that the '07 XL1200 heads I had needed the adapters. The same guy that sold you the gaskets has the adapters if you find out you need them.

To answer your original question, any '88-'06 Sportster manifold will bolt up.

Ebutch, Very nice. Yeah, British bikes have some of the same aesthetic appeal as Buells. In my garage there are 4 1970s Triumphs and 2 tube frame Buells. I bought one of them new in 1970, 39 years ago, so, in comparison, my Buells are relative newcomers. It is a serious affliction and I don't think there is a cure. However, I have found that a nice ride will keep the symptoms under control with minimal side effects.

Dave in 1999 march drove my 1970 BSA Thunderbolt to Buell dlr. and tried a new left over 96 Buell Thunderbolt. Then bought it.I said to myself handles like a British bike but never had that much torque in my life!!!!!And compared to brit bike maintenance free minus oily mess chains.1996 T-bolt was my first modern bike!!!

+1 on Alumiweld.

It is a solder-like metal that "welds" aluminum and it works very well for some applications.

I would definitely give it a try.

Ebutch: That looks kinda like my garage from 30 years ago!
I grew up in the UK. Spent a lot of time w/Matchless 500's & the occasional 650 + a rake of BSA's (C15 was a favorite. I loved my Rocket 3). Fav' bike would be the 1976 T140V. I did my first "ton" on a Triumph. I've been stateside for 20 years. I have had a Blast for 2 years. I just upgraded to a '99 X1.( I'm keeping the Blast for daily use)
The X1 is a project bike. The last owner didn't know what he had or how to take care of it.
I love the Buell line. It's just like home w/o the extensive oil leaks and awful electrics.
Later,

Chris C

Christopher the Rocket-three really leaked oil but todays gaskets are much better + very Fast bike and a gas Hog,3 Triumph 250s bolted together.Made the oriental bikes look slow At Daytona for 3 years. Lukeis elecs are trouble free if connectors are tight. As you Know Buells handle like a British Bike!!They are a Harley That Handles!!Your X1 is an Aggressive riders bike!!Pull Some GGGGGGs for me.

Ebutch: It's a project. I should have it right by February. I'll experiment with the GGG's then.
Ride safe,

Chris C
