Just wondering, I bought two, one for Lynn (XB12Scg) and one for me 1125r. I just could not pass up the price. Two bikes for the price of one Uly.

I just need to say something. If I had to trade a S2 in to get them I would not have bought them. I am betting my S2 brothers feel the same way.

If it was not so tragic it would be almost comical the way some of the other threads are going. People talking about grabbing parts and service. Something we know all too well.

So, anyone else buy a bike????

Thinking CR here too. I asked Kim "black, or red?".

From behind cover, I heard her say only "you already have a red bike...get black".

Coool.

With Frank and Lynn's...that makes three I can guarantee are in good homes.

The local dealers here have not budged on price yet.

I am going to wait till December-ish and see what is left...

Congrats on the new scooters Frank, and bringing Lynn into the "club"

I keep telling myself..."I don't need another motorbike, I don't need another motorbike....."

Beside after riding an S2, anything else will be like dancing with your sister.

Really since the day job is tied directly to new home construction, it's just not a good idea and not part of my bigger plan right now for me.

Loren, something to think about and I am not sure on this but it looks like from reading the other threads that HD is actually "paying" the dealership the difference in price. I have no idea why they would do that but I do take great pleasure in knowing that Harley paid for 50 percent of my bikes.

So, since the dealer has already bought the bike you are in fact sticking it to Harley. I hope they choke on it.

I rode the S2 today about 120 miles (my usual loop) and I cannot get over how comfortable the seat is.

After riding the Uly all week to work and back it was great to get on the S2T. A real Sport Touring motorcycle.

All of the dealers here in Arizona are still at MSRP, I'm looking though!
I WILL travel to get an R or a CR to add to my collection...
And Frank is correct, trade an S2?
That is NOT and option!

Frank it does seem odd to be paying the dealers to dump the inventory. It would be more of the top shelf bean counting at work from the board room. Makes me want to and I hope they choke on it too.

That is awesome on the new seat. We like happy butts around here.

I also got a black CR two days ago. Originally I wanted the white R, but after I had to tell my dealer what I knew about the dealer cash and after them checking it on Friday morning, the employees got first choice. Then I got the call to come in. Ironically the sales manager who had me sign all the fee-papers was the one who snatched up the snow crab...
And about the S2? Nope, I wouldn't sacrifice one of them either. I also agree with Frank on the 5K dealer cash. Makes me feel good too that Harley payed for half of my (stupid fast) Buell...
Now I have to add the 1125 section to my badweb routine and spend even more time not riding

Bought an 1125R yesterday, will likely sell my S2T sometime soon. Could not pass up the great price for the new technology...

Looking also at a Uly but the local dealer is still at MSRP. Would never consider selling the S2.

I'll be driving to my nearest dealer in the next couple of hours.
I hope to come back with a Black 1125CR.
I hadn't planed on getting a new bike for a couple years but oh well, it really depends on if my dealer will deal.
Wish me luck
This will further put off my S2T restoration but it will happen one day.

Good Luck, Curt.

It may be worthwhile to at least start stocking some S2 parts for your resto. I've had a couple difficulties.

Heading down tomorrow to my closest dealer to try and do the deal on an '09 Black 1125R. Obviously the S2 stays...but the Street Glide's gotta go.

I am picking up an 08 1125R from Liberty on Thurs. Right now the S2 will remain, if for no other reason than October/November in the Northeast is a lousy time to sell a bike. Depending on how things go in the springtime, I'll consider selling it, but it all depends.
I'd really hate to part with it,

I'll be picking up a BLACK 1125CR on Saturday. The S2 will leave my hands when they're cold and dead, and the XT-BOLT will still occupy the garage.

It will definitely be a Happy Halloween!

I would like a cr...would need to sell the s1 though first...rex

I was at bartels in southern cal this week. Not one person walked over to talk with me when I was looking at the buells in the store. all at regular retail. In fact no one even said hello. aren't their sales down 80%? and no one is wanting to sell a bike or a shirt to you? I had to approach a worker to ask about a shirt, and she had no clue about them? Two days, nearly half way to break-in. I have a nice set of bookends right now - one of the first "Harley" Buells, and one of the last "Harley" Buells.
Friend of mine I've know for nearly 25 years told me he is selling his Sporty (finally) and wants to buy the S2. The deal is a) don't wreck it b) don't wreck it and c) I get right of first refusal if he ever decides to sell it. I might take him up on the deal, especially since we go riding together fairly often, and I'd get to switch bikes and ride the S2. And riding the Sportster pace is pretty frustrating so it'll be nice to see him on a proper motorcycle.
After a couple of days on the 1125R I think I won't ride the S2 nearly as much, so it will be good to see it go to someone that will ride it pretty much every day.

Phillyblast, I hate to see you get rid of your S2 but make sure you tell your friend about the site just in case. Of course having the option to buy it back is always nice.

Frank,
Yeah, I will really hate to sell it too, if it comes down to it. I still haven't made a decision, and luckily I don't have to worry about it until Spring riding season hits. Worst time of year to sell a bike in the Northeast so I can just put it on the tender for now.

Added the black CR to the fold on Saturday nite. Just shy of 100 miles on it now - c'mon break-in...get done! Although, even under 6k on the tach...this thing STILL screams! : )

Now for a bigger garage. 5 Buells don't fit in a single bay very well, at least not if I want access to each without having to move all the others first to get to it. LOL

I had a 96 S2 a while back. My first bike. I just jumped onto a 09 XB12Ss, my second bike, because of the deals. I really like the XB, still getting to know her, but I don't think I would have given up my S2 if I had the choice.

Got a black CR with blue wheels! (thanks boss)
The S2 is like a bodily organ; I can't live without it. Also keeping the S1 'til they pry its throttle from my cold, dead hand. Now I REALLY have to clean out the garage! (just ask my wife)

I'm picking up my black CR in the morning.
Did some wheeling and dealing to make this happen, fortunately, the only bike that left my stable was the FXRS... : )

Glad to hear you are not a FAG anymore Bart

That South Park episode had me and Lynn rolling.

I really wanted to like the CR but after doing a few miles on it there were things about it I just did not like. The lack of minimal wind protection on the highway and the gearing. I prefer the R gearing more but both are fine bikes. The CR is the best as far as Ergos for an old guy like me.

I will have the R close to the ergos of a S2 soon.

Frank - your take and mine are total opposites on the CR. I *love* the gearing on the CR, but that could be environmental - you have more open-road space out there, where I'm usually on more technical stuff. I have to get used to it being "OK" to cruise at 5k on the highway...but I'm definitely loving my new baby. Like a new S1W with radiators! Matter of fact, I have the high bar kit in the garage...but I'm really digging the clubmans so I may just leave 'em for a while.

But it's so nice to be stuck on the highway behind some moron doing 54 in the left lane, in sixth gear, dodging right, NO downshift, whacking the throttle and passing the front bumper of the moron and the 100mph mark at about the same time : )

Of course Joe, there are many variables and yes (having lived in your area before) I can see what you mean.

I just put lower pegs on the R and it is getting there.

Oh, and to keep with the theme of this section, the S2T is still may favorite. I like how Jay described it.

Get your S2 back together Joe and point it towards Texas in May.

Just tryin' to find a pushrod tube (one's damaged, both from a prior bent pushrod -whoops- and a bad finish on the bottom end, which may be part of my consistent leak issue), and together she goes.

I miss riding the ol' girl. And she looks so lonely sitting there in the garage on the PitBull...staring longingly out the door every time I walk in...wanting to go play....
