Sounds like he was thinking of the Ulysses for a loong time, at least conceptually. Dammit. Now it's making me want to go work on the S2. It needs new pushrod bases installed and the XB rockerbox conversion...but I'm only about 1/2 over the Black Death (coughing, puking, and feeling all-around crappy for the last 36 hours).
