I'm not sure about the factory aluminum wheels, but the PM wheels on my 2002 S3 have the mounting holes for a second disc and the forks have a provision for a second caliper. I've seen people mention dual-disc setups and I'd imagine there was a factory kit to do it seeing it was a Buell-specific fork... | ||

I've had all variations of the factory Buell tuber wheels and they all have mounting holes for the second disc. It's just a matter of bolting it on. Finding the caliper is the hard part. | ||

well even if the brakes aren't worth a ton more money...its not a bad price. pair of rims, new set of tires and a pair of rotors for $420 isn't out of line IMO...depending on condition of rims and model of tires of course. anxious to hear what he says about them. so could it just be a regular rim with a spare rotor bolted to the other side? | ||

It's just a stock Buell tuber rim. Nothing special. They all have holes for mounts on either side IIRC I guess when I've gotten new wave rotors for less than 1/4th of that price and a set of stock wheels for $100, I don't see it. But I also had a line awhile back on the Braking perimeter setup for my wheels and $550...then his bike got hit. | ||

buy another rotor and bolt it on the other side of your wheel.....thats all those wheels are. do some searching on the dual setup, the caliper mount for the other side is about impossible to find....anything can be made though | ||

There's an adapter you need to run the right side caliper on the left side. I think a left side caliper is rare as hell and I think one went for A LOT on ebay awhile back.} | ||

do a search and you will see all the tails of dual discs. the true duel kits use smaller rotors as well  | ||

I've got one of the smaller rotors from a dual disk setup, but have never seen a left side caliper or adapter to make the right side caliper fit. | ||

Oh, and Mark...All bikes have the mounts on both sides. It's cheaper to only have one style tube made, and since either side is interchangeable, it makes costs stay down during manufacturing. | ||

I don't know if you're speaking for tubers only or all bikes in general, but my XB and 1125 don't have any provision for a second brake up front, and Sportsters that come form the factory with only one disc don't have mounting tabs on the other slider. | ||

Brin is right about the lowers. Both were made from the same casting IIRC, then drilled and stamped for left/right side. The S2s had a factory option dual setup with mirror image PM caliper, lines, rotor, and new master. Dan Dunn has this setup on his S2. They are rumored to only have produced 15 or so of these kits and they have gone for as much as $2500 on eBay. | ||
