Well I changed the rear isos' and still the pipe is contacting the frame and the front iso looks to be good still. could it possibly be the hym joint link were adjusted wrong. I'm at a loose and I still have a vibration that comes in at 3k rpm. Could that possibly be something in the engine? Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There isn't a procedure in the FSM for adjusting the hyme joint. Don't move these when doing ISOs.

Put them back to where they were adjusted and you should be fine.

I bet the vibration is your exhaust to frame contact.

Good luck and let us know the solution

Yeah I only unbolted the rear hyme from the swingarm. I didn't adjust. I'm gonna pull the exhaust and put new gaskets in and remount the complete exhaust and maybe find something (hopefully). Could the wrong preload on the suspension cause the contact ie. to soft. Thanks for the help!

After rebuilding my 02 X1 from the ground up, the header still sits close enough to the frame to leave burn marks on the powdercoat. I don't think it ever actually touches, but it's within 1/8".

same as PK here, mine is DAMN close to the frame but never touches.

bet yours was touching because of the increased movement with the ISOs being out.

i get a vibration at 4000rpm but only two up from the right hand foot peg and then only when the suspension unloads over small ripples in the road surface,it seems to come from the belt rubbing on the small portion of ally just behind the top of the front pulley ???

Well I did replace the isos' but there is just as much movement and no difference in the clearance with the new ones. But it has rubbed enough through time that the frame and pipe both show significant ware. Im at a lose. Do any of you think the vibration could be anything internal either. Just a thought. i was also wanting to wrap the exhaust but due to the lack of clearance I feel it would just destroy the wrap, and my money tree in the back yard died due to drought this summer. Thanks for all the info Gents

when i changed my isos i now have at least 3/4 of an inch between the frame and the header. of course its a force header and may have a slightly different bend.

Try to increase the revs with the bike on the sidestand and and try again while you are on the seat and see if you can still feel the vibration. That may help you isolate it a bit further. Just a thought.

While running this experiment, you may also want to keep an eye on the header pipe and see if it moves much when you increase the revs especially while you are on the saddle.
By the way, everything I know about these bikes I learned here on this site. And that's no exaggeration.
