Anyone happen to know the preload specs from eye to eye on a 02 M2? With me on it at only 160lbs it is measured at 15.25 inches from center to center of the shock eye bolts.I called the dealer and he said from 17" to 17 3/4" is correct for my year, thats 2" of adjustment.I have not made any adjustments yet,I just wanted to be sure the dealer was right on the specs because he sounded busy. Thanks,Charles

Sounds like you've got the newest model short shock. i can't tell you the correct sag, but I think the number you were given was for the older long shock.

The "CORRECT" way to set rear shock(sag/pre-load) is to:

This takes two people ...

With one holding the bike up the other person raises(pulls up) the the tail section of the bike ...

Person doing the tail section then measures the distance from the ground to a point on the tail section(write it down) ...

Then the rider gently sets on the seat to compress the rear shock ...

The other person then re-measures ...

Subtract the difference to find the compression ...

"i" adjust my pre-load(sag) to one inch ...

1 1/2 inch's will give you a softer ride ...

Any other way of measuring is "BUELLschite !!!
