i took the s1 out for a ride today. about 70 outside probably the last dry day for 5-6 months. anyway i get about 5 mi from home and my tack go's nuts. the needle is jumping all over and it won't run above 2000 rpms very well. i get about 3/4of mi. from home and stop the motor dies and won't turn over, the lites and every thing work. so its uphill the rest of the way. so i leave the bike and walk home and get the wife to follow me back with the lawn tractor. get it hooked up tell her to take it easy at first then go fast enough so i can ride it. well she hit it full throttle with about 3ft. of slack in the line and at sort of an angle. i managed some how to keep it up but what a ride. so what should i look for other than some clean shorts. i think the battery may be low but the head lite is brite. i'm going to charge the battery and see what happens. the battery is only 3 months old if i charge the battery and it starts. i most have a charging problem. thanks all (Message edited by badsix-2 on October 16, 2009) (Message edited by badsix-2 on October 17, 2009) |

Check the connections at the starter. Also make sure you are charging at around 14V with the bike running at 1500 rpm or so. |

Check any bonding straps for your grounds. The main one should be close to the battery, around the front of the swingarm and mounting block. |
