I now have the perfect seat for my S2.

I have used corbins and the stock seat and also had a local guy redo one of my seat pans. No matter, I was always ready for a break on the S2 after 100 miles. After 400 to 500 miles I was really hurting.

I never liked the way the corbin put me 2 inches back in the seat.

Loren (Gowindward) made a S2 seat from a trashed out corbin I had. I took the bike out and stayed in the same position for 110 miles and I did not feel any butt pain at all. I will get her out again this weekend but from todays test ride I think it is perfect.

Notice that the seat position is not 2 inches back like a regular corbin. The position is just like the stock seat. PERFECT....

I'm confused (it's easy to do...) - are you further back on the bike now? Or not as far?

Gorgeous seat...might have to send my stocker to him since I hatehatehate that seat. Or maybe my 'one cheek' S1W seat...

He's 2" closer than the regular Corbin, which is about the same position as the stock seat, but better padding.

Ah.

6'4" here. Don't need 'closer', lol.

Sounds like it can be tailored pretty well though...and I've got to do SOMEthing about that S1W seat...

Frank, The bike looks awesome (as always). Thanks for putting your butt in my hands, so to speak.
The Uly saddle is near complete. I should have had it done last night, but the news yesterday kind of took the wind out of my sails.

Today I'm off to find new wind.

Loren, do not worry about any kind of time constraint. I too was deeply affected and feel like a good friend died. No matter, it will be interesting to see what Erik Buell does next. He has motorcycles in his blood just like us.

I have so many emotions like sadness, hate and disappointment going on at the same time. It is not healthy. I just have to think about the great things that have happen to me because of Buell, there are really too many to list. Here are some off the top of my head.

- The joy of my first Buell (1997 S1)

- Being a part of the first S2 Gathering and meeting everyone that shares my passion

- MBV (I do not know if Spiderman remembers this but I did not know who Fick was and I did not make a good first impression)

- Riding side by side with Ratbuell to the factory on our S2s

- Talking to Court at any time

- The Court coffee delivery at the campsite

- Having dinner with S1Wmike in VA

- Having dinner with 1313, Webe, M2NC, Smilee, Uly wife and my brother in NC

- Meeting and staying the night with Buellhusker in NE, then riding to Homecoming with him

- Picking up my 95 S2 in AZ with Bart

- Telling Erik Buell there is not enough heat coming off the Uly (after riding in rain at 38 degrees)

- Watching Bullerthanyou pull up at Homecoming in a torrential downpour looking like a drowned rat

- Hanging out with Zac in the parking lot at the 25th like a couple of kids the night before christmas

Many more....

I hope Erik Buell has the opportunity to see how much we care for the S2s ad Buells in general. I know there is at least one S2 in his garage.

On a different note: I am buying a white 1125R for myself and a XB12Scg for Lynn tomorrow. I do no collect bikes, I ride them. I will be riding Buells until my dying day.

Hey Frank, what about the time in the parking lot at the 25th with your locked saddle bags? I was there. =)

I look back on that and laugh but I sure wasn,t at the time. One bag that would not stay closed and one I could not open.

I remember Lynn said "why don't you just toss them"

In which I replied "do you know how hard these are to get and how much they cost"

She was quick "I know how much you TOLD ME you paid for them"

Opps

Thanks Brin, I forgot all about that...I will start another thread....

Brin - I got your PM...it was already sold : (

But...like Frank, I have other things to "worry" about...it looks like I may bring home an '09 1125CR in the coming days.

I asked Kim - "black, or red?".

"well....you already *have* a red bike..."

Black it is.

It's not a '10 (truly the "last" of the Buells)...but now, I think I have a complete "set":
95 S2, the "first" production Buell.
98 S1W, the first Thunderstorm bike.
06 Uly, first "adventure" Buell.
And now '09 CR - last generation, liquid cooled.

Only four bikes Joe... Better get on it.

Prediction; tubers will start demanding more money. All other XBs and 1125s will drop and pickup quickly.

"On a different note: I am buying a white 1125R for myself "I have sure thought about taking advantage of the fire sale...afterall you really can not have too many motorbikes. But, I think I'm going to hold on to my ticket and wait for the new bikes to come out next year. Why put any money in H-D's pocket today?
