I'm looking for a Sharks tooth for my X1. I can get this at a decent price. I'm told it's a 61 tooth, 1-1/8" belt. Dude thinks it's off a Sportster, but wasn't sure...? Anyone have any ideas what this is? The weld marks worry me a little. Would appreciate your input. Thanks

Looks like a Sharktooth. Sorry, I was at work, LOL. Here's a Sharktooth I sold and shipped to France this summer:

Looking again, the center hole looks smaller than the one I pictured. See the distance between one of the pulley holes on the one I pictured, compared to yours...It may have been on a Sportie, but all you would need to do if that is the case is bore the center hole out to fit. I'm sure you can do that, I've seen some stuff of yours lately...At least, I think that's you.... |

Those aren't weld marks. There was another thread here recently about the inner edge of the pulley falling off. Anyway the marks you see are because the inside edge of the pulley is a separate part that is pressed onto the rest, or installed after it's heated, or something like that. It has to be separate pieces so that the teeth can be machined into the pulley then chrome plated to make them durable. |
