There's a rear brake?

My X1 just has this pedal on the right side that makes the rear wheel stop spinning. Not slow down, just stop spinning. : p

There is not a lot of material to be turned. That being said I think they can be but you would be hard pressed finding a shop that would do it. At least that is my experience. It would be better to get a new rear rotor.

And yes, your crazy SteveO.

No it cannot be machined, Bad idea! I tried it at my shop on the brake lathe and it just peeled out in long curly shavings. It is the wrong metal type for auto shop lathe bits. Now i don't think you can get any different bits to work either. I even tried to use a rotary brake pad buffer while the lathe rotated the rotor around to smooth out the re-surfacing for me. It lasted like 3 weeks and now is worse than ever.

I bought a new one at the HD/Buell dealer for $68 dollars plus tax. Turning it is probably not worth the effort

We just started stocking the OEM rear rotor, so if you need one, we can ship it right away. See http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17324.html
