For my S3 build, I want the only visible colors on the engine to be flat black and stainless steel, so I'll be going the route of either powdercoat or black ceramic on the forcewinder elbow, intake manifold, and throttle body. Would there be any benefits to ceramic coating on these areas? I know that these uncoated parts get warm while riding my X1, but I don't know if it's heat getting into them or radiating out of them. Basically, if I ceramic coat the entire intake system up to the heads, would I be keeping heat out or keeping heat in? |

I've seen the intake manifold get hot, but never the Forcewinder elbow... I would think that ceramic coating could mess with fuel atomization in the intake though if it's smooth. For what it's worth though, the heat is from the heads and disipates to the intake mostly through the metalundo I dunno if you would be doing one or the other with ceramic coating. I'd just paint the outside. |

Yeah the elbow only gets slightly warm to the touch. Its probably heat from the header anyway. Ill probably end up getting a flat black powdercoat on the outside of the parts and just leave the inside a bare cast finish to be safe. |
