Nathan came by and we rode out, me on the Triumph..... Took a 10 minute loop, we shot the breeze, then it was time to load her up. My gut is still lodged in my throat, it was a truly sad day for Matt Malott.

I could've sold it twice now, but I did a decent job of sniffing out chopper guys.... Nathan used to have an M2, and now he has this!

I'm gonna go ride my triumph for a bit, to ease the pain. I will return one day, when the money is better. Maybe an S2......

Matt

Thanks for the post -- the wife keeps bugging me to sell the S3 now that we have the FJR -- I've been holding her off sighting the current depressed prices -- but your post makes me know how the day will feel if she wins out -- If you like to ride without wrenching it does take two bikes when you own a Buell --

Hi it's Nathan. Just happened to be on here looking for advice on torquing the axle and pinch for a front tire change and saw my name. Thanks for everything Matt, I will take good care of her.

There's an online source to download the S1 manual. I'll see if I can find it.

Front axle nut 48-53 ft-lbs 65.1-71.9 Nm
LOCTITE THREADLOCKER 242 (blue), metric,
page 2-6, page 2-10

Front axle pinch screw 13-15 ft-lbs 17.6-20.3 Nm metric, page 2-10

I won't say not to follow FSM, but I don't personally use loctite on the axle.

Thanks man. One more thing what about the bolts that hold the caliper to the fork. Do they have a particular spec.
