Ive taken mine off to clean it up a bit, and noticed its looking a bit cloudy. Is there a way to brighten it up or "refinish" it in any way?

Use metal polish.

Anyone know if the CF can be 'refinished'? My air filter cover keeps getting cloudy/milky spots after washing - it's like water gets under the clearcoat or gelcoat or whatever, and clouds it up for a few days. Looks poopy. Thinking about having a painter buddy of mine give it a good heavy coat of clear or something like that...

Rat,
My S2 "greenie" often looks a bit rough.
I used by buffing wheel with white compound and a VERY light touch.
It did wonders. I then hit it with a bunch of coats of Mothers Carnuba wax.
It's has held up well. I reapply the wax every fall.

I'll have to try that.

Just got my "service wash" today - which, since the washbay kid loves my bike, was actually a full detail and wax - but the top of my greenie is covered in splatter and chem spots. And since my spare is boxed up with a couple mirrors for Frank.....<shrug> Something to worry about on my day off tomorrow ; )

Mothers aluminum polish worked really well on the S2 I just bought. I was polishing other things and had that same cloudy, white poopy look when I started. Looks like new. I figured for aluminum it had to just be a real fine metal polish and after trying it in an inconspicuous spot, yup, works fine.

Now the paint looks poopy
