So today i was going to ride 110 miles to the Utah bonneville salt flats to see some friends run the salt flats land speed records and get some pics and meet these crazy guys who do this! I was going to see fireman jim higgins and terry parsley and get some pics and see there bikes in action. Not today! On the freeway My fuel light didn't come on and i was stranded on the freeway for 2-1/2 hours until i could get help. I was in the middle of nowhere and no cell reception. But i did figure out i could text to my brothers phone but no phone and he came out and brought me some gas. I was standing there when these bmw guys stopped to help but they all had fuel injected bikes and had no hose. One of them suggested i put my helmet on the ground as it was an international symbol i was needing help. So i did it and 5 more guys stopped and one had a toy hauler and offered a free ride to wendover UT. But i told him i had someone on the way, but he let me use his cell phone but it was no help. I had already sent a text to my brother, Who was in route with 4.5 gallons of fuel stuffed into a backpack, So long story short missed all the racing nobody came with me. And i have bad carma.

The good news i had no cell reception and had to spend $1.00 for the pay phone. TERRY of JTSperformance answered the phone! He was the REASON i was there, He and his team tuned and mapped my bike and i was supposed to be there. I wanted to see there bikes and witness the action.

I talked to TERRY before he came up from California about fixing his alignment and turning his brake rotors. So the plan failed but had a good ending! So what happened was TERRY'S GF flight was delayed and he had to go to salt lake city airport to get her at 10:30-11:00. So he gave me and my leaking x1 a ride home. I got to talk terry the whole ride back to Salt lake city. He set 2 new records on his blast! But he was pretty tired and had to go to the airport to pick up his girlfriend after he dropped me off!

My X1 fuel light stopped working while it was still under warantee @8000 miles or so.
No one ever figured out how to get it to work right.

The sensor is so simple and had no moving parts with only one wire too!
Someday, I will open that tank and find out what's going on in there.

Keep an eye out for a gal named Diana AKA Sportsterdiana on a.... Sportster. She's riding out from San Jose, CA for the trials and will run that bike. Third year out there for her I believe. Ran her XB9S out there a couple of years ago and her other Sportster last year.

Safe ride,

When i saw this bike i had to take a picture. I have seen it before but can't remember who makes it.

I just keep visualizing 4.5 gallons of gas sloshing around and leaking from the zipper of that backpack

Two of the JT&S Boys played well in the salt today. minus outerwear. Blast is finished for the season, six runs three records, one naked and two properly attired. two new top speeds, 138.828 with the bits hid and 125.5 with them showing. Jimmy's back-up was fast enough to get a new 200.5 record bare. We both go to tear down tomorrow then the records are really ours. Thanks from all of you for the support. Terry - JT&S Performance

Congrats on the records (again)! Any sign of Sportsterdiana around and about? Should be on the red Sportster this time around.

Safe ride,
