Just finished dyno tuning a nice X-1 with a turbo set-up being built by a friend for Bonneville. He used an 883 top end to get in to the 1000cc class(889 cc.s),rising rate fuel regulator and bigger injectors. Really turned out nice, 112 HP and 100ft lbs of torque.

This may be a stupid question.. but why not use an XB9 stroke to get into the 1000cc class, instead of using 883 bore.

(would an XB9 crank even fit into X1 cases?)

The turbo idea is very cool. Any dyno sheets showing where the power is? Pictures of the setup?

Because there's a lot of casework involved in putting an XB9 crank in tuber cases. 883 parts bolt right up. Plus the longer stroke could be an advantage because it pulls air in easier for cylinder fill so you don't need as much duration in the cams (I think- I could be wrong as I'm speaking out of theory).

JIM If you guys tuned it like you tuned my X1 Then i bet it just RIPS!!! I like that torque number, That could be a workout hanging on that stump puller!!

How did you tune The ECM for a turbo? Rising rate fuel regulator!

Is that bike going to be here this weekend in Utah?
Man I wan't to see you guys run the salt flats
