What color are your plugs?

Yes, it would be a wise thing to do.

A complete stage one kit is a three step process. Exhaust, hi-flo air cleaner and a rejet of your carb for best performance and acceleration. Otherwise your bike will run lean/hot!

You have to remove your plugs to see what color they are. This is referring to check if your bike is running rich or lean or just right, not about the type of spark plug.

You have to take the carb apart to figure out what you want to know.

See if that one screw area has been drilled out (wtf is the name of it, I'm blank right now).

Check the plugs. If it's running great a change will likely make it run worse. I wouldn't be so concerned about what stage jet kit it had.

If it stutters and farts when you try to keep a steady speed at 30mph, then it needs jetting. A good test for the high speed jet is to hold full throttle in maybe fourth gear for 5 or 6 seconds or so (to allow any effect from the accelerator pump to pass through.) Then cut the throttle 10%. If it causes a momentary acceleration, then you need to re-jet the main jet. Most likely though, the previous owner would have done that when the goodies first went on.
