Ok I've got a stock 2" header from an S1, and a muffler with a 2" inlet, and can't for the life of me find an elbow that will connect the two and hang from the front exhaust mount.

Did any early tubers have a 2" elbow or was the elbow just built into all available mufflers for those bikes?

Only the S2 had the wrap around pipe with the elbow in the 2 inch size. Some Vance and Hines pipes had a removable elbow but don't know if that would help...

You should be able to hit an exhaust place with measurements, and have them make a large-radius 2"ID to 2"OD elbow for ya.

+1 on the V&H elbow..but I don't know if it was ever sold as a service part or only as a part of a muffler kit.

The elbow on the S2 header was built into the header.

True.

Find me a race 2.5" header, and you can have my stock S2 header : )

Lol, That was my old proposition. I have an S1W header now that I plan on using, but I need to have an elbow built too. I already sold the S2 header and muffler though.

Hm, excellent tip there. My S2 is currently running a stock S2 header (2"), to an automotive 2"ID to 2.5"OD adapter, to a Buell Race muffler. Never had the stock S2 muffler, it came (to me) with an external disc Supertrapp...and the sound made my head hurt. It got into my helmet and just resonated.

I'll have to keep an eye on that header... : )
