Your hogdead****@hotmail.com email account has been hacked. You might want to take care of this, and change your passwords if you use the same password for all of your accounts.

thanks- I am aware of the problem and am taking steps to correct it. Apparently this has been an increasing problem for hotmail accounts over the last month. My apologies in advance to anyone receiving spam from my hogdeadhead account. Don't click on any links contained within said spam. so far it looks benign, but you never know.

been using the same hotmail address since I was old enough to use a computer and have never had problems with it.

I recommend Kaspersky Internet Security to avoid all viruses, known phishing sites, malware, etc. No AV software can prevent falling for a phishing attack though.

Don't you have to pay for Kapersky?

I've never in my life paid for a virus program.

I used AVG Free forever and never had a virus...I now use Avira Free and have yet to have a virus.

Never pay for that...All you need to do is update it daily and schedule a virus scan for say midnight or whenever you aren't using the computer. You can choose to have it shut down upon the completion of the scan.

I run Avast. Nothing showed up there so I ran Spydoctor and Norton and Malwarebyte, none of them picked up anything, so likely I was the victim of some phisherman. I have had that address since Hotmail started and had no problem. I mostly just use it for newsgroups and online forums.

I use a Mac and no longer need to run all the virus and spyware programs that I had to run on my Windows boxes. Also, Gmail is rock solid...even if you don't have and problems with Hotmail, Gmail is light years ahead of any other web based email program. Seriously makes all others seem archaic.

Mac and Gmail FTW!
