... I wanted to ride tonight but found this...

I wiped it off, rolled it out for pictures and it had already bled this much.

Grrrrr.

...so here's me looking not so happy.

...but the pipe looks great, sounds nice, and is soooooo shiney... and I cut more than a pound off of my cam case.

I guess it's time for the Race Tech valving, bummer

NICE!! and that sucks!!
Don't feel to bad my rear shock blew down in California @ JTS performance. Then lucky me voltage reg went out, So the first thing i have to do is change it out before i can ride also. But i am worried the rear shock will be to soft to even put put around town for a couple weeks while the works shock is finished.

Won't be soft, more like riding a motorized pogo stick, ha-ha!

It will be kind of a harsh ride, but you'll be okay. I've got a spare stock upgraded unit if you want to borrow that until your Works unit comes in you are welcome to....

I think it looks great, I love the orange on it was always one of my favorite colors on vehicles.

Thanks! I like the orange color on Buells too. I put Rim Stealth reflective striping on mine (the squiggle on the "Buell" on the tank says "American Motorcycles" in the same reflective color), it's red but it always looks orange with it lit up by a flash.

My wife and daughter got me that cool metallic red sprocket cover for Father's Day. A few more red highlights here and there and maybe I'll leave it alone for a while...

...unless I decide to change something...

...funny that I've got almost 23K miles on it, seems like I've always got it torn down...

That little "unless" disclaimer gets everyone I think. There is always some little thing that pop's up.

Bike looks great! Wipe the fork leg off and go riding. It's cool you got the family involved.

My fork started doing that on the left side and i got on the bike and held the front brake and compressed the fork a couple of times test rode it and it apparently stopped on its own for now! Also this was when the bike was not moved for a long time and it was very cold.

Thanks for the offer mike. Let me see how the blown shock feels and i will let you know. How do you like that stabilizer? I was thinking of getting one for my bike, When the front lifts just enough to unload the front forks it can get squirrely and loose.

Russ, thanks for the tip. I'm gonna have a local race guy rebuild the forks and will need to take the bike to him (so keeping it from squirting everywhere on the ride will be good). I'm hoping that having my forks tuned - the right spring weight and properly valved for my riding habits - will actually fix the headshake, it should but we'll see.

These forks are 6+ years old and have never been serviced. I've got Buell race springs and seals for it. It had been seeping for a while, I just forgot about it (doh!). I have no intention of ever selling this bike so it's about time I got it set up right anyway.

I got the stabilizer on clearance from a dealer/sponsor here, I might not have purchased it if the price had not been right.
That said I am very glad to have it as my front end becomes unstable in high speed sweepers( I80 or Miller Raceway), it actually gets some headshake around 80+85 on a straight line too and it becomes a lot worse on the sweepers.

For regular street riding I have it turned all the way down, it's easy to reach and adjust on the fly if I develop any problems while riding in the canyons or other aggressive riding.

Thanks for the compliments X1, Hugie, and Kalali! I've been very deliberate in the changes I've made to my bike and have tried to be practical AND make the bike more aesthetically pleasing with my various mods.

I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out, I will eventually have it painted with a hammered silver metallic and the race stripes. The red "American Motorcycles" will be on the bottom quarter of the "Buell" instead of through the middle.
Black out the fenders and I'm pretty much done!

Sure! My brother-in-law did the rough cut in the machine shop and I did the detailing and finish work. It might take a month or so to get it back to you... I'm a bit of a perfectionist

Any idea how long until you might be able to get yours all back together?

Hey that chin fairing looks great on your bike. I want to have my header done in satin black.
